Mesotherapy VS Liposuction

Mesotherapy treats cellulite providing a smoother skin surface and tightening the loose skin at the same time where liposuction often increases the effects of pre-existing cellulite by spreading it to other areas of the body and leaves the skin to be surgically removed at a later date. Mesotherapy also promotes fat reduction in specific areas of the body. The fat deposits are flushed out of the chosen areas of the body and the fat is not gained back in other areas, which often occurs after Liposuction. Mesotherapy being a non-surgical procedure does not require hospital admittance, general anesthesia or downtime.

Remember, to have a fine body as you would want, mesotherapy as a single method would not work. You need to change your lifestyle and habit into a healthier way. You must also pay a great deal of attention to your nutrition and exercise. The effectiveness of the treatments is improved by proper diet, exercise, adrenal and thyroid function. Having a positive attitude towards yourself and your body in particular is extremely important. It helps the whole process. It is not the mesotherapy that creates the miracle, it is YOU!

A high protein, low carbohydrate diet is recommended prior to and during your treatment program and you must avoid foods containing xanthenes or caffeine’s such as coffee, caffeinated teas, chocolate or sodas before each treatment.

You must NOT consume xanthenes or caffeine products drinks prior to treatments may experience lightheadedness or faint. You must consume a protein meal and adequate fluids prior to each treatment.

Before deciding to have a mesotherapy procedure, you need to do certain things.

First, do a research on mesotherapy. You can do this by browsing the internet, going to the library, talking to the person who already had mesotherapy procedure, talking to the physician who is experienced in doing the procedure (and also licensed for it), etc.

Second, go to your GP and ask for a general check-up. Get the results and consult your GP about the possibility of having a mesotherapy procedure and ask for his/her opinion on whether your physical condition is fit for the procedure. There are certain health conditions which contraindicate mesotherapy, e. g. pregnancy, insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, heart arrhythmias under medication, severe heart disease, and consumption of blood thinners.

After you feel that you have done sufficient research and the general check-up came back OK, then think thoroughly whether you want to do the procedure or not, what actually motivates you to do it, do you really need it, etc.

You should be aware that any medical procedure will always have risks. Nothing is 100% safe. This is why you need to gather some information first before you decide to have the procedure. The information will then be your reference for further considerations.

The concentrations of injected materials are tailored and titrated depending on the diagnosis, area to be treated, severity of problem and so forth. Mesotherapy employ the technique of multiple injections of pharmaceutical and homeopathic medications, plant extracts, vitamins, and other ingredients into the subcutaneous fat. Mesotherapy injections are purposed to target adipose fat cells, apparently by inducing rupture and cell death among adipocytes.

The mechanism of action involves the administration of mesotherapy cocktail into the mesoderm (the layer of fat and connective tissue under the skin), thereby stimulating it. Mesoactive substances gradually dissolve the underlying fat. The dissolved fat is then naturally excreted. A Brief Introduction To Mesotherapy

Mesotherapy (from Greek mesos, "middle", and therapy from Greek therapeia, "to treat medically") is a medical procedure in which very small amounts of medications, FDA approved for other uses, are injected into the mesoderm (middle layer of skin – see picture of skin structure) using micro gauge needles. It was formulated by Dr. M. Pistor in

France

in 1952 and recognized by the French National Academy of Medicine in 1986. Dr. Lionel Bissoon brought it to the

United States

in 1999 and has pioneered its acceptance.

The basic concept of mesotherapy is in the local administration of drugs in order to have a more localized result with faster action, greater effectiveness, and lesser systemic involvement. Dr. Pistor has defined mesotherapy as “To bring the right product (medicine), in the right amount, to the right place.” .

The procedure of mesotherapy includes multiple injections into localized areas to achieve maximum results with no down time. The procedure of mesotherapy takes about 20-30 minutes with minimal discomfort. The injections are done with a computer controlled meso injection system (“meso-gun”) that ensures a more consistent application for maximum efficiency and makes the injections virtually painless..
